Well, keep dreaming. :P
And, yes, today I want to talk about this topical theme of nowadays.
It's not that I'm really into all those celebrities' stuff and things that they do to draw attention, but there is one thing that bother me. Example that they set for younger girls. We live in the days of internet and social networks and it's very easy for 13-14 year olds to see things that give a wrong presentation about their bodies and behaviour. We all are casual observers of this pathetic performance titled 'Miley Cyrus and her tongue', but my sister was a fan of Hannah Montana when she was small girl and the first question that she asked when she saw Miley's latest photos and video 'What's wrong with her?Why she's doing all this? 'Well, we know why
she's doing all this. Sex helps sell. It always was and always will be, but..Remember Madonna's nudity? Remember "Dirrrty" Xtina, "Slave" Britney, Christina Milian's 'Dip it low', 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin'by Jessica Simpson? — we're at the point now where it feels been-there-done-that.And because of that it's kinda pathetic. Epatage? Please..Lady Gaga has made this word so hackneyed already. Artistry? Stop...here is the problem. All this people are artists - singers, actors, songwriters (at least they're meant to be) And there's absolutely no artistic intent or message.Or, probably,Miley wants to tell us something instead 'Hello, I'm Miley
and I'm naked?. Of course she or her managers wants people talk about her, discuss her, judge her,but will they remember her? No. Road to nowhere. I'll remember Bonnie Tyler,Cranberries,Lacuna Coil,Evanescence. Because, instead of thinking what part of body to show next, they are creating art. Music that you want to listen when you're 15,30,50,no matter. They will be legends, part of the history. This is the true Art.
My role model is Amy Lee from Evanescence. She's
talented, she has money, she has popularity, she has her dream job. Did we see her boobs? Hell no.
I'm the alternative model. I like it.It's not really my job, it's more a hobby.I'm young, I look good,I like to try new things. It's my expression and I'm trying to be artistic there as much as I can.
And,probably, is something wrong with me but I never had a check in front of words 'It's okay to get naked' in my head.
I find it's humiliating, when men whistle or yelling 'hey hottie' behind me on the street or judge me like a piece of meat. I like polite compliments from the men with a taste that really can see and appreciate my beauty in the clothes instead of villainous comments from neanderthals. In other words - self respect is not a meaningless word for me.
I had a lot of proposals from photographers and magazines asking me posing nude or at least in lingerie or bikini. They all were rejected, even when I desperately needed money. Men asked me to send them my pictures for money and this story never was told, but one person asked for my mirror selfie in the lingerie for $600. When I've said 'no' price have risen to $900. Easy money, right? (Guy likes exclusive things, don't blame him :))
You know what I've said to him? Nothing.Sometimes it's uselessly to explain your opinion to person thinking he can buy everything and everyone.
Self respect is what girls really need in our days. Personality,self-development, resourcefulness,
courage, intellectual development . Things that helped me to be who I am. To have my dream job. I know,I could be more popular uploading my half naked photos and I got all those comments like 'Hey, if you need more followers on instagram,I can feature you on my page, just
send me your spicy pics'.
But I'm smart enough not to demonstrate my body for free and talented enough not to do it
And I'm proud of it!
I want people to remember my art, my creativity,I want to be part of the history even if this part will be very very small. It's not important 'how', it's important 'for what'.
I know I'm not so popular and not so many girls will see my message. But for those who will read it - there is a planet and it calls 'Self Respect'. We're not a nuns here,we dress our asses with the latest fashion, we are open-minded,we read esoteric books,we have fun, we do what we like, we love our bodies, but also we like to be a mystery,we want to be inaccessible,we're classy and we're pretending bad girls only in bedroom with a men that we love.
And I hope our kind won't die out :)
P.S. Sorry for my English.it's not my native language.
